We made my parents house WA safely.
I’m writing this post in morning 7:58am, and looking at the first picture…. makes me miss my mama even more!! OTL It was the first breakfast she cooked for me in 2 yeas, and I loved it!! (Obviously! lol)
It’s pan fried atka mackerel(임연수 구이), stir-fried anchovy with peppers(멸치 고추 볶음), Soybean paste soup(된장국), fried eggs and kimchi!
We had great breakfast then had to my sister’s house. We were going to eat lunch at her house, and we decided to eat Samgyeopsal~!! (BBQ pork belly / 삼겹살) ♥
So on the way to my sister’s house, we stopped by Korean grocery store to get ingredients! And there, I saw Korean soju collection in the store that I haven’t seen for years since I left Korea!!! Which is awesome! lol
I wish my local liquor store looks like this so I can have more personal choices! lol
After a fun grocery shopping at Korean store with my mom, we headed to my sister’s house. Shall we eat samgyeopsal~?!! ♥
Awwwww Samgyeopsal~!!!!!!!! ♥ how much I love you!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Samgyeopsal mean is pork belly, but same time it can be BBQ pork belly, which is we grill it on the dining table, served with side dishes, sauce, rice, soup and fresh lettuce / vegetables to warp everything! We enjoyed so much, if not, I know I enjoyed it way too much! lol
After the lunch, my sister cut my hair for me. (She went a beauty school in Korea)
Ah, how much I love ♥ my new hair cut!! So refreshing!
Yeah, I loved it so much I took so many pictures right after that! ♥
My sister did an amazing job on my hair! She’s very good!!
After she did my hair cut, I wanted to something for her. So I did what I can do for her.
Cooking dinner! ♥
She wanted Korean spicy fish soup, so I made it!!
Before make the spicy fish soup, I made anchovy dashi broth. Water, dried seaweed(dashima / kombu) and dried anchoby. That’s it!
bring to boil, take out the dried seaweed(if you keep boiling the seaweed in the broth, it will make broth dirty and wired texture), simmer for 15 to 20 minute on medium heat.
Add radish first(makes fish soup taste a lot better if you add radish and bring to boil first before you do anything to the soup.). Then season the soup with Korean fermented soybean paste, Korean red flakes, fish sauce, salt and pepper. Then add fish, bring to boil, skim if there is any form,. Add tofu, bring to boil again, and top with watercress, green onion and fresh chili. Serve as it is, and enjoy!
We all loved the soup and it was very delicious! I was so happy that my sis loved the soup! ♥
I already miss cooking for my family. And of course the grocery store that I can get anything and everything I want / need!!! I will recreate the dishes I made at WA in MS with southern ingredients and hopefully turns out great so I can share with all of you!!
Wish me luck!! ♥

안녕하세요 선경 언니!
Blog/Youtube 너무 너무 잘 보고있어요!
