As you know, I love Vietnamese cuisine.
I believe Vietnamese cuisine is one of the delicious cuisines in the world!
The other day, I made Vietnamese lemongrass pork for weekend lunch.
I marinated and prepared sides, and my hubby grilled it! My grill master!! ^^
I made 2 different ways to serve lemongrass pork, 1 banh mi(Vietnamese sandwich) slider and bun bowl (Vietnamese vermicelli bowl). It was my first Vietnamese bun bowl, and let me tell ya, I literally fell in love with it! If you love Asian food, and BBQ, you’ve got to try Vietnamese bun bowl. It is absolutely delicious!
I served the lemongrass pork top of cooked and chilled vermicelli(thin rice noodles), along with pickled radish&carrot, sweet chili garlic dressing, fresh cucumber, cilantro, mint and chili pepper.

Sweet Chili Garlic Dressing
Ingredients
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar vinegar
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 to 2 red chili (Thai burd, cayenne or 1 fresno)
1/4 cup fish sauce
Directions
In a small sauce pan, combine all of ingredients except fish sauce, stir. Bring to boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until sugar has dissolved and vinegar’s sharpness has gone. Remove from heat; add fish sauce; stir to combine. Cool to room temperature before serving. You can keep it in refrigerator for 1 week.

For lemongrass pork, I seasoned with garlic, shallot, fish sauce, lemongrass, sugar and black pepper. I marinated for about 20 minutes then grilled it. I used 1/4 inch thick lean pork.
Ahhh, I LOVE Bun Bowl!! It is SO SO SO DELICSH~!!!
One of my favorite Korean food combination is galbi(Korean marinated pork BBQ) with Nangmyeon(Korean cold noodles). Bun Bowl remind me of that combination.
It works absolutely lovely.
I made lemongrass pork because I bought a bag of gluten free buns, which is made from rice flour. I wanted try it so bad because Banh Mi supposed to made with rice flour based baguette.
The result? FAIL, BIG TIME! lol
The bread should be crunch but it was way too bready and chewy.
Oh, well, at least I tried. Right?
Now I know it’s not working as I thought it would be, so next time when I passing the bread at the grocery, I know not to grab it! lol
Over all it was great meal, we enjoyed a lot (of course the bun bowl!)!!
If you haven’t had Vietnamese lemongrass pork yet, you’ve got to try it!! Either bun bowl, banh mi or just with rice, it is so delicious as main dish on your table!
Thank you for reading my blog, I hope you have a great day/night!!!
