Hands down The BEST Spam Fried Rice Recipe is here!!
My spam fried rice is the best because the technique of how to cook the spam, egg and my homemade simple teriyaki sauce.
It is so quick to put together with simple ingredients and super easy to make!! You kids will love this dish as much as you do!
Let’s get started!
Cut 1 can of spam into 1/2 inch cubes. You can use any spam you have in your house.
I used Korean spam “Luncheon Meat Pork” from Chung Jung One (NOT Sponsored) because our family prefer this Korea spam over regular spam. It is less salty, less greasy, much more meaty and has nice bite into it!
Combine soy sauce, sake, mirin and sugar in a small mixing bowl to create teriyaki sauce. Mix well until sugar has dissolved and set aside.
Beat eggs with pinch of salt in a mixing bowl and set aside.
Heat a wok over high heat, add 1 tbsp oil and pour beaten eggs. Scramble the egg to cook evenly. When the egg’s cooked 3/4 way, remove from the wok and set aside.
For the silky texture egg, watch out to not over cook them!
Heat bow-empty wok over high heat then add 3 tbsp oil and spam. Cook the spam until all the edges are golden brown, about 3 to 5 minutes.
Stir in chopped garlic, cook for 1 minute.
Now, add day old cold rice (cooked) and sauce mixture.
Make sure to add the sauce mixture around the edge of the wok, not direct into to rice. Mix everything together and stir fry until there’s no moisture in the wok, about 1 to 2 minutes.
Add the egg and break down into the rice.
When the egg is mixed well, turn off the heat and stir in green onion.
Garnish with some sesame seeds and shredded nori if you like.
Enjoy!

Looks wonderful…maybe I could use some ham instead of Spam. Do not have positive memories of Spam from my youth, therefore I have not had Spam in my house since I graduated from college. Will squelch the memories and search out some Spam to try this recipe.
I’ve made this like 4 times and I get better each time I make it. It definitely improved my alright spam rice into something so much better
Just made this and wow! So good! Who would have thought that spam could taste so delicious in this rice. Can’t wait to keep trying more of your recipes.
Looks amazing! I’m going to try out this recepe this weekend. Does it reheat well? How long does it keep? This serves six, how would you adjust to serve 1 – 2?
Thanks!
This was the best fried rice recipe with spam. I think the sauce really makes the dish. I was expecting the amount I made to last for two meals, but my children & husband ate it all up in one meal!
So glad you guys enjoyed it!
This reminds me of the breakfast stir-fry in Hawaii, just add Portuguese Sausage. Very delicious!
This was DELICIOUS. Literally just as yummy as it looks. Thanks again for another awesome recipe!!
This was INCREDIBLE! It was devoured with lots of compliments. Thank you!
I’m glad you put one of my recipes to good use (:
Looking forward to making this. Six cups of rice – measure before or after cooking the rice?
Loved the span fried rice it was awesome. Love your recipes.
This is literally the best fried rice ever. Actually the week before this video came out I made spam fried rice but it just came out “blah”. Fried rice seems so simple but it’s not! The sauce makes this dish and also the par-cooking of the egg really makes a difference. I used Costco spam and a little bit of Costco hotdogs it was delicious 😋 I was making my husbands lunch but I ended up eating half of it 🤦🏻♀️. This will definitely be a go-to recipe, thanks Seonkyoung!
What is the song playing in the background? Trying to find it!
I was wondering the same, about the song.
It’s called “She” and it’s by Andy Powell and Linda Roan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDkObt-mLOg
This was so good! I made “spam” with Tofu and followed the rest of the recipe. Delicious!!
I love Spam fried rice, but it is very hard to get the salt balance right. This recipe does it. It also allowed me to finally get the right texture on my fried rice. Thank you so much for the videos and the recipes that you do! They have helped me make some of my favorite foods at home. ❤️
Thank you for the teriyaki sauce recipe. My husband loved it and demanded I make it for him so he could use it on stir fried chicken. Because of you, I am getting more brave with Asian flavors. Enjpying your videos very much !
What wok are you using?
Having this for dinner so good my husband did’nt even add extra soy sauce like he normally does to any fried rice yay! Will be making this again.
I made these with cauliflower rice, because carbs, and it was delicious! I didn’t have high hopes but I will absolutely be making this again and again!!
I was watching Culinary Class Wars when I heard your name. It was so unique yet felt so familiar to me. I couldn’t understand why your name was so familiar until I found this recipe in my history when searching your name.
This is literally the best fried rice I’ve ever had and the only way I make fried rice since I’ve first followed this recipe years ago. And now I know why it’s so damn good. Because you’re an incredible chef! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Ps. Try it with Tocino Spam!
Hello Kim, thank you for the support and kind words.
I’ll have to give the Tocino spam a try 🙂
