When you have no ingredients to make anything…
This idea might helpful. 🙂
If you have a little one (or 2.. or 3.. or many..) who eats anything and everything with ketchup, he/she will LOVE this fried rice!!
I don’t know about you but I always try to have rice & eggs in the fridge.
When I was young, my old sisters (I’m the youngest daughter) made this ketchup fried rice for me after school. Because we always have rice that my mom made before leave to work. We always had egg and ketchup. And egg and ketchup is something easy and common flavor in Korea.
I believe fried rice is something easy to fix meal for Asians because we always have rice in the house. lol
Today, I had cold rice from leftover takeout by the way.
Also had some ham leftovers from previous filming (Korean potato salad, have you check the recipe yet? 😉
So I started cooking ham first in a dry skillet.
You can add extra cooking oil, but I was expecting to have some oil from ham.
I think bacon will work very well for this recipe!
When the ham is nicely browned, add egg and seasoned with salt and pepper.
Scramble the eggs and then mix with the ham.
Add cold rice and stir fry all together. Season with salt and pepper again to your taste.
But I skipped because I was going to…
Add some ketchup! 😀
Mix everything well again!
Then TA~TAN~!
I garnished with dried basil that I had in the pantry right on top!
It literally took me 5 minutes to cook this bowl of Ham & Egg Ketchup Fried Rice!
