Nov 13th was my birthday, Happy Birthday to all scorpios! I’m pretty bad at remembering birthdays even my own birthday. Not like me, My husband Jacob, he is really good at remembering special days, like birthdays and anniversary. And he planned a secret trip for my birthday! How lovely he is!
I’ve been saying I need and want disconnect somewhere quite (we’re living in down town Sacramento) and surround myself in nature, especially near by ocean. To me, being next to water is very important. I just love the energy and I’m the happiest and most peaceful mood next to water. Jacob remembered what I said and planed a trip to this beautiful airbnb house for 3 nights and 4 days for my birthday.
The location is Albion, California. It’s Northern Cali near by Mendocino. (Only 20 minutes to drive)
I really loved that there were no other people around and I was able to fully soak up the nature energy without any distractions.
Yes, there were a couple of houses around the house we stayed, but no one was staying in those houses.. we’re lucky!
It was pretty rough drive, I’m not gonna lie but when we got there… Wow, it took my breath away! As soon as I saw the view, I forgot about the rough drive! And we were coming from Sacramento, so driving through Sonoma area, Russian river area was actually fun to stop by at wineries and breweries on the way. And pick up some wine to drink while we’re reading.
The biggest reason why Jacob choose this place was not only the view, but it was pet friendly. He knows that I prefer not going vacation if my boys can’t be with me. It might sounds ridiculous for some of you, but it is very important thing for me. If you have a pet or pets you will understand what I’m talking about.
They are over 15 year old, soon to be 16 and I’m very grateful for them being so healthy, happy and energetic for their age. I do care of them as my own kids. Even at this moment (writing this post), they made me a huge smile on my face and giggle just by being right next to me.
Jacob knew my birthday wouldn’t be completed without Smokey and Bandit so he found a beautiful Airbnb house right next to ocean and pet friendly!
We had such a great time in Pacific Gem. We slowed down, connected with nature, not doing anything but reading, writing, being quiet and just be there. Be in the moment, and just be. Ah, my favorite thing to do!
I don’t have a pic (I have some videos that I shared on my Instagram stories) but their bath tub has an amazing view too. If you visit Pacific Gem’s Airbnb, you will able to see the bath tub view!
Only 5 mins driving to north, we could visit super cute down Mendocino and 5 more mins to this amazing seafood restaurant called Princess Seafood Market & Deli.
Super cute local seafood restraint that has pretty good variety of choices. From raw to grilled to deep fried to soup and salad.
All the foods were fantastic! So fresh and simple, what I want for my seafood!! Looking at the pictures makes me drool right now. lol
Only if we had one more night we could grab some fresh seafood and grilled on our Airbnb house!! But Jacob was cooking for my birthday and I couldn’t give up that either! lol Next time when we come back, definitely having a seafood night!
In between the driving, we were able to stop by at a beach. π 2days out of 4 days were very foggy but it was still beautiful!
Ok, I’m NOT 22, I’m way older than that, but! Jacob did this “22” candles because he knows how much I love Taylor Swift and one of my favorite song form her is “22”. And.. the birthday gift was (I thought it was the secret trip & cooking my dinner was the gift!) tickets to Taylor Swift concert!!
OMG he is the BEST! You know why he is the best? Because he knows how much I love Billie Eilish and tired to get her tickets but the seats he wanted were all sold out. So he joined Taylor Swift fan club and all to able to “early buy” the concert tickets! He definitely wins the husband of the year!!
If you are looking for something similar as us did (quite and connecting with nature with beautiful view), definitely check out this airbnb house we went. Such a gorgeous place!!!
