Last Friday, I made my Korean Taco (Kogi Taco)Β for the ARS (Airmen Leadership School) class that my hubby is being a mentor for.
They are taking this class to be better and going to have more responsibilities on their shoulders. I was so proud to cook for them, and they enjoyed so much!! That made me happy. π I really enjoy cooking for military people. It’s my way to show them how much I appreciate their service, because I understand how tough military life can be.
So it was my honor to cook for them and looking forward more meals to cook in the future! π
The night before I braised 10 lb. beef short ribs in Korean BBQ sauce(AKA Kalbi sauce).
I seared them first on a skillet and then moved to a super large pot. Instead of chopping/ground all the onion, garlic and other ingredients, I just added into the sauce to make my job easy. ;-b
I kept this pot full of beef and the sauce in 170 degrees(the lowest temp my oven could go) oven for over night because it wouldn’t fit in my refrigerator. Actually, it turned out great result!
In the morning when I checked the meat, it didn’t cooked all the way I would want it to be, but the meat soaked all the flavors through the night in the warm oven. So I brought the super large pot on a stove and brought to boil and simmer for 2 hours.
And this is the result.
Oh yeah,
SO juicy, ridiculously tender beef short ribs… Ah, my mouth watering right now, just thinking about it… lol Of course, you can imagine the flavor from Korean BBQ, right? π
It’s OH-SO-GOOD!!!!
I also made all the components for Korean Taco.
Kimchi Slaw, Sriracha Creme and Green Melody that will go on top of the taco! (Mixture of green onion, cilantro and green jalapeno! Just chop all them roughly and mix all together)
All the recipe for Korean Taco is on my blog post “Kogi Taco Recipe”
I also made my Edamame Guacamole. π
I brought all the food to a park on base, and heat up tortillas front of them. πΒ
Oh, yeah.
Aren’t they looks so delicious?! They know how to build this taco!!! lol
I was so happy that people were keep coming back to eat more, more and more! One of the airmen ate 6 tacos! Yes, 6!!! And it was a pretty good size taco! lol that made me so happy too. πΒ
It was so much fun and thank you so much for enjoying my food!!!
Can’t wait to do this kind of things again!!! π
