Shin Ramyun
Alright, alright I know Seonkyoung’s back, but I had a few posts to still share. I missed her so much and cooking anything made me both miss her and feel closer to her at the same time. It was actually really fun too.
This was a day that I didn’t want anything to be too complicated, and still eat something delicious. So I made some ramen noodles. Now these are not the top ramen or cup-o-noodles I grew to know through my 30 plus years. These noodles are amazing and still very easy to make. Of course with a little effort, they become even better. The longest part of the whole process is waiting for the water to boil.
Seonkyoung also has a YouTube video on how to doctor these noodles up, check it out:
So this is what you will need:
1 package of Shin Ramyum (Korean Spicy Ramen noodles)
1 egg
1 slice American cheese
Optional: Kimchi, green onion, fresh chili
First add water to pot (I know that’s hard right?)
then add seasoning from package. Sometimes I add a couple dashes of cayenne pepper also.
Bring to boil and add noodles.
When they loosen up and are boiling well, add the egg.
You can break the yolk, but I like to leave it in tact.
The egg needs to cook for a couple of minutes.
All of this only takes about 5 minutes.
then TA-DA!!!
Add the slice of cheese and enjoy. This is so simple and so much better then the broke college kid ramen.
