When my friends were coming over to my place for a brunch party, I made this deviled shrimp and it was a KILLER!!
It’s bold, spicy and so much flavor and texture!!
Before dig in to this recipe, you must make my KILLER chili sauce, recipe link is below!
First, let’s make the blackened shrimp. You can grill or pan fry the shrimp!
Combine gochugaru, garlic & onion powder, salt, black pepper and sugar in a small mixing bowl to make rub.
I prepared 13/15 shrimp, peeled and deveined. They are real big and nice size! You can find easily at Costco! (No sponsored lol)
Sprinkle the rub mixture on shrimp and toss everything to coat the shrimps evenly with the rub.
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add some cooking oil to cover the pan. Place shrimps but not crow the pan, do 2 or 3 batches as needed. We want nice and blackened shrimp so make sure to have beautiful char on each shrimp.
While the shrimps are cooking, melt butter in a sauce pan over medium low heat.
When the butter is completely melted, remove the melted butter from heat immediately.
Add my chili sauce and mix well.
Toss the blackened shrimps and the chili sauce mixture and serve immediately.
Enjoy!

Hi! can I substitute gochujang for the gochugaru?
Plural of shrimp is shrimp – no ‘s.’
Made this tonight with chicken wings. Wow!
