Hi guys!
Long time no new post!!! My nephew and my step daughter graduated from high school and they both leaving 2 different locations, far from California so it was about 2 weeks of traveling for me!
So happy to spent some quality time with family! More I get aged more I appreciate family… <3
Anyways, today I’m sharing summer grilling recipe, because the summer is knocking at the door!
Can you imagine, savory flavorful miso and buttery butter married with pork chops and grilled….
Ah! Is life can be better than that?
Um… actually, YES!

Ok, now, time to get into the Miso Butter Grilled Pork Chops!
In a large mixing bowl, combine white part of green onion, garlic, ginger, miso, soy sauce, mirin, hondashi, sugar, black pepper and melted ghee. Mix well until well combined.
Add the pork chops and coat evenly all sides.
Cover with plastic wrap and let it marinade in a refrigerator at least 2 hours to overnight.
To make miso butter combine all ingredients for the miso butter in a small mixing bowl and mix well.
Place a piece of plastic wrap on a working surface. Place the miso butter mixture on top of the plastic wrap. Cover the miso butter mixture completely with the plastic wrap and roll it as a sushi roll. Twist the both end to close it tightly and keep it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Heat a grill over medium heat (You can just cook it on a stove top or indoor grill too, follow the same directions). Place the marinated pork on the grill. Cook the pork until 145 degrees inside and nicely chard outside, about 10 to 12 minutes each side. I highly recommend to use meat thermometer.
When it’s done cooking on the grill, remove from the heat and let it rest for 3 minutes. You can place the miso butter we made early now on top of the pork while it’s resting so the butter will melt with the rest of the heat of the pork.
Serve the miso butter grilled pork chops with the extra miso butter and your choice of side dishes. I recommend warm cooked jasmine rice, cucumber salad or kimchi!
Enjoy!

Can it be baked in the oven unni?
I made this last night and my family loved it. I will say Seonkyoung, you do make things very tasty. You know how make a tasty dish even tastier. My family typically like a dish that is made, but will say it could use more pungency of flavor. When I make your dishes they don’t say this. I love to watch you and Jacob eat food, lol.
You don’t just eat a small bite, but eat for a little while and sounds funny, but I really enjoy that.
This has become our favorite pork chop recipe! Hubby complains about the mess it leaves on the grill, but still does it cuz it tastes so good :). We’ve never done the additional miso butter on top though. It cuts the calories down and we’ve never felt like the chops were missing any flavor. Thanks for the recipe!
Thank you for the support and believing in my recipes!
I don’t have thick bone-in pork chop at home right now. Can I make it with thin boneless pork chop?
Yes that should be fine!
I have Hatcho Miso in my fridge, will this work?
It should, but I would use a little less than I would with regular miso.
This recipe is a constant family favorite like so many of your other recipes! Sometimes I add a clove of garlic to the extra miso butter if I have extra. It is delicious either way! Thanks for keeping my family and I happy Seonkyoung!
Hi! What would be a great sub for miso?
Hi! Korean soybean paste is the closest substitute I can think of, however I would HIGHLY recommend finding some miso since it is the main ingredient of the dish and what makes the dish as well. You should be able to find some at your local asian grocery and sometimes even regular grocery store as well! Hope this helped (:
This is great! I used pork collar steak and the husband said it is definitely a keeper. Two and four year old ate it with no complaints and 4 year old said it was yummy. Thanks for another great recipe!
So glad I could help out with my recipes!
I am in love with this recipe. I have done with the both pork and steak and even shrimp. This is one that is staying in my cookbooks!
I cannot believe that there are only 3 reviews fro this! It is now my go-to marinade for everything! It tastes like heaven!! I never knew miso was so amazing and furthermore this recipe with the other ingredients just make it to another level!! I am definitely instagramming it this time othertimes I have eaten into quickly.
Super good! My kids love it too!
I have made this recipe about 5 times now for my husband and 5 children. Everyone loves it, when they find out this is what I am cooking for dinner the children usually start dancing around the kitchen. Thank you for the recipe!
OMG!! That is so cute! I’m so glad I could help out! That sounds ADORABLE!
