Hi guys!
Today I’m sharing amazing wing recipe, Asian Zing Wings!
If you love wings and if you have been Buffalo Wild Wings, you probably had or heard about this wings- how amazing and delicious they are!! 🙂
I have made this recipe like 5 years ago, and that recipe is outstanding-delicious. But I wanted to make it more easier and simper recipe. So I did!!
I made cooking steps much more easier and simper. Also made with less ingredients too!
Yeah, you can thank me later! lol
You can adjust spiciness for your taste, and also if Thai chili flakes are too much for you, you can use regular red pepper flakes as well.
Hope you give this amazing Asian Zing Wings recipe a try soon especially football season and for your potluck party!!
Have fun and good luck in your kitchen~!!

- Total Time: 50 mins
- Yield: 2 1x
Description
Ingredients
- For the Chicken
- 12 single wings (approximately 1 1/4 lb. / 567g)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 Tbs. backing powder
- For the Sauce
- 1Tbs. sesame oil
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic, smashed
- 3 thinly sliced ginger root
- 1 tsp. Thai chili flakes
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbs. rice vinegar
- 1 Tbs. mirin
- 1 Tbs. Sriracha
- 2 Tbs. honey
For the Garnish
- 1 green onion
- cilantro
- sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven 425 degrees.
In a mixing bowl, toss chicken wings with salt, pepper and baking powder evenly. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake 20 minutes. Make sure wings are at least 1/2-inch apart so they have room to cook evenly and get crispy. Flip the wings over and bake additional 20 minutes or until wings are fully cooked and golden brown. - Meanwhile, let’s make Asian Zing sauce!
In a cold wok, add sesame oil, crushed garlic, ginger and Thai chili flakes. Now turn on heat to low and let it infuse flavors to oil, about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine rest of ingredients for Asian Zing sauce in a mixing bowl. Also it’s perfect timing to chop your green onion and cilantro for garnish later on.
- Pour sauce mixture into wok, and increase heat to high. Bring sauce to a boil and keep stirring until sauce texture is syrupy and thick, about 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
- By the time, your chicken wings are done cooking, remove from oven and transfer to wok. Heat the wok over high heat, and toss chicken wings evenly with sauce.
- Transfer Asian Zing Wings to a serving place, garnish with chopped green onion, cilantro and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
- Prep Time: 5 mins
- Cook Time: 45 mins

Seonkyoung, we made a double batch of these to take camping this weekend and sampled two. They are delicious! I admit to adding 2 tbs of chunky peanut butter to the sauce, but everything else is straight from your recipe. We have another couple joining us and I can’t wait to share your zing wings with them. I wanted to send you a photo of mine, but don’t see how to do so. We love your sense of humor and your recipes. Keep up the good work!

Am I able to substitute the mirin for anything else? Or do I have to use it in the recipe?
These were amazing! I did substitute light corn syrup for the mirin, and red chili flakes instead of Thai. I was so surprised at how delicious these were. Thank you for the recipe! Cant wait to try these on a cookout this summer.
Can I substitute the mirin with rice cooking wine??
Of course you can! 😀
This one the best wings I made Amd better then any bar wings wow
It’s a keeper for sure.
Thank you
Oh my goodness! Made these for my family and it was a hit! I am not one for spicy but these were awesome! I could only eat 2 at a time, let my mouth cool off, then return to eating!
I’ve watched you for a while and made some of your recipes and you never disappoint!
Everyone love this wing. Made it multiple times for gathering and everyone can’t get enough of of it. For those who really like spicy wings, I added little of ghost pepper flakes from Trader Joe’s and it was a huge hit. Also use the sauce on the baked cauliflower for vegitarians and it was huge hit. Every recepie I have tried from here has been absolutely fantastic! I usually make the sesame wings for the kids and that recepie is fantastic also. Thanks for great recepies!!
WOOOOOOO I would LOVE to try with ghost pepper flakes!!! It will be so good!!!

I was looking through your site for chicken recipes because I know all your recipes are so good no matter what I choose, and I was tired of my usual fried chicken. I made this right now, but without Sriracha because I didn’t have any, and it was so good!! My sister had her first bite and she was like OMG THAT’S BOMB! Thank you for the recipe!!
