I’m a lady. I’m not a dessert person.
But, there are a few desserts that I fell in love with.
First one I’m going to share with you guys is “Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings”
I know, it sounds strange, right?!
My mother in-law made the special dessert when we were visiting them for last Thanksgiving.
I thought I wasn’t gonna like it.
BUT SURE I DID!! I LOVED IT!
Here is the recipe.
Apple Dumplings
3/4 cup sugar
1 stick butter, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cans crescent rolls
2 apples, cut into 16 pieces
1 (12oz.) Mountain Dew
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13x9x2inch baking pan.
In a small bowl combine sugar, butter and cinnamon.
Separate the crescent rolls and wrap apples in the rolls.
Place them in the prepared pan.
Place them in the prepared pan.
Pour butter mixture over the rolls.
Then pour Mountain Dew over the top.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Reduce the oven to 200 degrees and let them set in oven for 15 minutes.

And there is another dessert recipe that I tried last night.
The original recipe is come from “Barefoot Contessa at Home” by Ina Garten.
Here is the original recipe.
Peanut butter & Jelly Bars
Makes 24 bars
1/2 pound (2 sticks) untaled butter, at room temperature, plus more for greasing the pan
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 extra-large eggs, at room temperature
2 cups creamy peanut butter, such as Skippy (18 ounces)
3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting the pan
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 cups raspberry jam or other jam (18 ounces)
2/3 cups salted peanuts, coarsely chopped
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x13x2inch baking pan
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar on medium speed until light yellow, about 2 minutes. With the mixer on low speed, add the vanilla, eggs and peanut butter and mix until well combined.
In a small bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. with the mixer on low speed, slowly add the flour mixture to the peanut butter mixture. Mix just until combined.
Spread two thirds of the dough in the prepared pan, using a knife to spread it evenly. spread the jam evenly over the dough.
Drop small globs of the remaining dough evenly over the jam.
Don’t worry if all the jam isn’t covered; the dough will spread when it bakes. Sprinkle with the chopped peanuts and bake for 45 minutes, until golden brown.
Cool and cut into small squares.
All I did different is I used Nutella instead of peanut butter.
Spread strawberry jam and top with fresh strawberries and blue berries.
You can skip the fresh fruit part, if you don’t like too gooey texture.
And I topped with chopped 60% cacao chocolate instead chopped peanuts.
If I had hazelnut, I would done it also with chocolate.
The biggest reason I changed the original recipe, because I’m not a fan of peanut butter.
I like it, but not for my dessert.
I hope you guys have very very sweet weekend!!!

My favorite and super easy dessert…Mix a dark chocolate cakemix with 1 can of cherry pie filling. Dump into a greased and floured 9×13 pan and bake at 350 for 30-40 mins. Allow to cool and serve with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. YUMMMM
That sounds absolutely delicious!
