One of my favorite Korean seafood dish is Kalchi Jorim. (Korean Style Braised Silver Hairtail)
It is my dad’s all time favorite fish also, I think that is why it’s my favorite too. ^-^
I didn’t growing up eating mackerel, even though it’s Korean’s comfort fish.
Because when my dad was young, he had a very bad upset stomach after eating mackerel.
So my mom never cooked mackerel at home and I never had a chance to eat until I grew up.
That’s why to me Kalchi (Sliver hair tail) is my comfort fish instead mackerel.
I haven’t had this delicious Korean seafood dish for a while because it’s not my hubby’s favorite.
So I kinda stop making it.. I would like to cook something he likes to eat instead I want to eat.
I think reason why, I want to see the person or people who I cooked for, enjoy eating my food.
He doesn’t like this dish not because it’s flavor. Because he doesn’t like to work on it… lol
My dad taught me very well how to eat this fish when I was young, so to me it is easier than eating a piece of cake. Hehe.
Anyways, I just received this Kalchi Jorim Sauce form Sempio, and I wanted to give it a try.
This is the front and the back of package looks like.
It’s name is “Sempio Jeju Kalchi Jorim Sauce”
Jeju is the biggest Korean Island, very famous for Korean silver hailtail.
And of course the best Korean silver hailtail restaurants are in Jeju Island.
I remember my dad, step mom and I went to Jeju Island and went one of the best Korean silver hairtail restaurants. OMG, I still can’t forget the food we had over there.
The best Korean silver hairtail dish ever in my life.
The back of the package has the directions that you can follow.
But it only explains in Korean and it’s covered with Enlgish nutrition facts sticker…

I think they need to figure out a better way to do it for foreign who buy this product.
So they can follow the directions and enjoy even more this delicious traditional Korean food!
I didn’t even know how to use this sauce until I pulled out the sticker and read the directions.
Because I never used this kind of pre-made package sauce before, and I needed a direction for.

I wish I could use better quality silver hairtail though.
The sauce was pretty spicy witch is I really liked.
It has very good flavor, serves 2 to 3 people.
If you’d like to try, give it a try. ^-^
I have one more package of the sauce, I want to try a different way to cook.
